Atheists for Humanity

Atheists for Humanity Inc. is a 501(c)3 charity non-profit based in Denver, Colorado. Our goals are simple: raise money and awareness for worthy charities and actively work to de-stigmatize atheists and atheism.

Atheists Giving Aid

Atheists Giving Aid is a non-profit organization that provides disaster relief and direct aid to people through the entire United States. As well as support local atheist organizations to be able to do philanthropic work in their community.


EARTHWARD is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonmembership public-benefit charity organization that provides humanitarian relief aid to civilian victims of religiously motivated violence ranging from acts of violence by individual extremists or terrorist organizations that claim religious justification for their actions to full-scale holy wars waged by religiously dominated governments.

Foundation Beyond Belief

Foundation Beyond Belief is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation created to focus, encourage and demonstrate humanist generosity and compassion. Their programs include: HUMANIST GIVING, featuring five charitable organizations per quarter; BEYOND BELIEF NETWORK, a network of over 75 local freethought organizations across the U.S. putting compassionate humanism into action through community volunteering and fundraising; HUMANIST CRISIS RESPONSE, raising funds and awareness for major humanitarian crises worldwide; and the PATHFINDERS PROJECT, a yearlong international service trip.

Humanist Charities

Humanist Charities, an adjunct of the American Humanist Association, specializes in benevolent aid and action to further the health and welfare of humankind.

The Kansas City Atheist Coalition

The Kansas City Atheist Coalition is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization. Their mission is to advance atheism through activism, philanthropy, education and the cultivation of a positive secular community.

Nonbelievers Giving Aid

Spurred by the horrific suffering in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science (RDFRS) joined forces with 20 other freethought groups or associates, to collect donations to non-religious relief organizations.

Secular Avenue

Secular Avenue is a 501(c)(3) organization formed to help secular people in need to achieve safety, stability, and autonomy. The initial focus of Secular Avenue is SAFE, a program to assist people who are unsafe at home due to leaving religion, religious extremism, domestic abuse, or coming out as LGBTQ. Services include financial assistance, counseling, legal assistance and resource coordination. As Secular Avenue grows, additional programs will be created to serve other groups of people in need within the secular community.


SHARE began as a project of the Council for Secular Humanism to provide an alternative for those who wish to contribute to disaster relief efforts without the intermediary of a religious organization.

Atheist Alliance America

Atheist Alliance of America (AAA) is a non-profit umbrella organization in support of democratic local Affiliates to project a positive voice for atheism through community activism. The organization began in 1991 as Atheist Alliance and evolved into 2 separate organizations over time—AAA with a U.S. focus, and a global Atheist Alliance International.

Secular Coalition for America

The Secular Coalition for America is a 501(c)(4) advocacy organization whose purpose is to amplify the diverse and growing voice of the nontheistic community in the United States. We are located in Washington, D.C. for ready access to government, activist partners and the media. Our staff lobbies U.S. Congress on issues of special concern to our constituency.

United Coalition of Reason

The United Coalition of Reason is a nonprofit national organization that helps local nontheistic groups work together to achieve higher visibility, gain more members, and have a greater impact in their local areas. We achieve this goal by assisting local groups in the “community of reason” to cooperate with each other.


CFI Institute Online

The CFI Institute Online offers seminars entirely online — everything about the course is provided on a CFI website. You will read the course lectures, follow links to other webpages, ask your questions, and participate in class discussion with the instructor and other students in our course chats and forums.

The Humanist Institute

The Humanist Institute exists to equip humanists to become effective leaders, spokespersons, and advocates in a variety of organizational settings, including within the humanist movement itself. They explore humanist values and train future leaders.

Kochhar Humanist Education Center

Recognizing the importance of education, the AHA established the Kochhar Humanist Education Center named for its benefactor, Pritpal Singh Kochhar. Our intent is to make humanist education accessible to all.

Partners for Secular Activism

The mission of Partners for Secular Activism is to facilitate education about secular, scientific, and civic issues and activities for the public. By bringing knowledgeable scholars and expert communicators together with audiences wanting more information about issues that matter to their lives, they will elevate the general understanding of reasoning, science, civics, ethics, and topical issues affecting the public. Courses announced by PSA are open to anyone, and they deliver educational value for everyone.

Equal Rights

Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association

Founded in 1979, GALHA is a democratic, membership organisation based in the UK with members worldwide, promoting Humanism and LGBT equality.

The LGBTQ Humanist Council

The LGBTQ Humanist Council, a project of the American Humanist Association, is a forum for LGBTQ Humanists and allies to come together, build community, exchange ideas, promote the humanist philosophy and values, and work together to achieve full social and civil equality of LGBTQ persons.


The Council of Ex-Muslims

The Council of Ex-Muslims is a loose affiliation of groups that operates around the world to highlight the difficulties of leaving the Islamic faith and to help those who are trying to step away. The groups operate under various names in various languages, most of which translate to include the term “Ex-Muslims.”

The ACLU is our nation’s guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country.

American Atheists

American Atheists, Inc., fights on the front lines of the battle for separation of religion and government, laboring for the civil liberties of atheists. Since 1963, American Atheists has challenged the intrusion of religion and religious tradition in schools, work, and public policy while educating millions about what it means to be an atheist.

Americans United for Separation of Church and State

Americans United for Separation of Church and State is a nonpartisan educational organization dedicated to preserving the constitutional principle of church-state separation as the only way to ensure religious freedom for all Americans.

Appignani Humanist Legal Center

Through amicus activity, litigation, and other legal advocacy, our team of cooperating lawyers provides legal assistance to defend the constitutional rights of religious and secular minorities by directly challenging clear violations of the Establishment Clause and seeking equal rights for humanists, atheists and other freethinkers.

The Center for Freethought Equality

The Center for Freethought Equality is a sister organization of the American Humanist Association dedicated to lobbying and political advocacy. The Freethought Equality Fund PAC is a project of the Center for Freethought Equality.

Freedom From Religion Foundation

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, an educational, watchdog organization working to keep church and state separate, has had many significant legal accomplishments nationwide. The Freedom From Religion Foundation has sounded the alarm bell on a multitude of other First Amendment violations. They act on countless violations of separation of state and church on behalf of our membership and the public, successfully correcting many violations through persuasion and education.

Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers

The Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers builds community for atheists and humanists in the military and fights discrimination against nontheists in the military. Established as a 501c3 charitable organization in 2006, the Military Association connects service members in need with the national secular community and shows America that we support the troops.

Military Religious Freedom Foundation

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that all members of the United States Armed Forces fully receive the Constitutional guarantees of religious freedom to which they and all Americans are entitled by virtue of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

Substance Abuse Help

LifeRing Secular Recovery

LifeRing Secular Recovery is an abstinence-based, worldwide network of people who are choosing to live in recovery from alcohol and other drugs. They encourage individuals to build their own personal recovery programs based on three principles: sobriety, secularity, and self-direction.

Rational Recovery

The combined mission of Rational Recovery Systems, Inc., is (1) to disseminate information on independent recovery from addiction through planned, permanent abstinence, (2) to make self-recovery a viable option to all addicted people everywhere, and (3) to make informed consent to addiction treatment and recovery group participation available to all addicted people.

Secular Organizations for Sobriety

SOS is an alternative recovery method for those alcoholics or drug addicts who are uncomfortable with the spiritual content of widely available 12-Step programs. SOS takes a reasonable, secular approach to recovery and maintains that sobriety is a separate issue from religion or spirituality. SOS credits the individual for achieving and maintaining his or her own sobriety, without reliance on any “Higher Power.” SOS respects recovery in any form regardless of the path by which it is achieved. It is not opposed to or in competition with any other recovery programs.

SMART Recovery

SMART Recovery is the leading self-empowering addiction recovery support group. Their participants learn tools for addiction recovery based on the latest scientific research and participate in a world-wide community which includes free, self-empowering, science-based mutual help groups.

Women for Sobriety

Women For Sobriety, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women overcome alcoholism and other addictions. It is, in fact, the first national self-help program for women alcoholics. Their “New Life” Program helps achieve sobriety and sustain ongoing recovery.

The Apostasy Project aims to provide information and support for those thinking about leaving religion.

Atheist Havens

Volunteers to assist young adults that are kicked out or disowned by their family due to their atheism. Couches to crash on, warm meals to share, someone to lean on, and someone to listen.

Atheists Helping the Homeless is a group of Atheists who give out toiletries and other items to the homeless.

The Clergy Project

The Clergy Project is a confidential online community for active and former professional clergy/religious leaders who do not hold supernatural beliefs.

Secular Safe House

The Mission of Secular Safe House is to provide physical “secular safe houses” via a network of facilities and private homes as well as a virtual community of support via the Internet for those coming out of religion, cults or as LGBT from a religious environment.

Secular Safe Zone

The Secular Safe Zone is working to build a network of Allies to provide community and support to non-theists around the nation. To accomplish this, the Secular Safe Zone program trains Allies and Facilitators to create safe spaces for non-theists and encourage acceptance, understanding, and tolerance. Allies are also trained to recognize and respond to issues of discrimination, harassment, and bullying that non-theists may come up against.


Committee for Skeptical Inquiry

The mission of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry is to promote scientific inquiry, critical investigation, and the use of reason in examining controversial and extraordinary claims.

The mission of the Evolution Institute is to use evolutionary science to solve real-world problems. Currently, there is no mechanism for applying current theory and research to public policy formulation. We aim to provide the mechanism.

Institute for Humanist Studies

The Institute for Humanist Studies is a think tank, committed to gathering information and practices within Humanism, to address the socio-political, economic and cultural challenges facing communities within the United States and within a global context. The HCP is a national think tank that, in collaboration with the American Humanist Association, seeks to create, establish, and connect a nationwide network of Humanists communities focused on individual, group, and societal betterment.
